Simple Salsa Recipe

We're sharing a few quick recipes to inspire your next special gathering around your own Obra Elements Kitchen Island.

    • 1 lb (or any amount you have available) ripe tomatoes (e.g., Roma, vine-ripened), roughly chopped

    • 1/4 cup finely diced shallot (about 1 small shallot)

    • 2-3 cloves garlic, minced

    • 1 tablespoon olive oil

    • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped

    • 1-2 tablespoons fresh lime juice

    • 1/2 to 1 jalapeño, finely minced (remove seeds for less heat)

    • 1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt (to taste)

    • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper (to taste)

    1. 1.  Preparation: Dice the tomatoes and shallot, and mince the garlic and jalapeño (if using). Chop the cilantro.

      2.  Combine Ingredients: In a medium bowl, combine the chopped tomatoes, diced shallot, minced garlic, chopped cilantro, olive oil, and the optional minced jalapeño.

      3.  Seasoning: Pour in 1 tablespoon of fresh lime juice. Add the salt and black pepper.

      4.  Mix and Adjust: Gently stir all ingredients together until well combined. Taste the salsa, and add the remaining 1 tablespoon of lime juice, or more salt and pepper, as necessary to achieve your desired flavor balance.

      5.  Serve & enjoy an Ar-Modelo with your salsa ;)

(https://www.modelousa.com/blogs/recipes/ar-modelo), made famous in East Austin at La Perla bar.

    • 1 Can Modelo Especial

    • 1 Large Fresh Lime

    • 3-6 Drops of your favorite hot sauce

    • Beer Salt (kosher salt/sea salt will also do)

    1. Slightly pop the top of a Modelo Especial can, enough to release pressure but do not fully open (IMPORTANT)

    2. Squeeze lime juice onto the top of the can rim

    3. Add a few shakes of beer salt and Tabasco over the opening

    4. Serve the remaining Modelo Especial with the cocktail

    5. Then open all the way and enjoy a big gulp

    Note

    • Pairs well with a mezcalito, snacks, and some good friends
