Project Turntable
Project Turntable is composed in three verses; a built-in entertainment unit, a guest kitchenette, and a set of custom floating shelves. Recognizing our client’s deep appreciation for music, we meticulously designed the built-in unit to showcase their vinyl collection and ensure each audio-component nestled properly into place. The kitchenette design considers the guests’ experience — a convenient, familiar & cozy space for both short & long-term stays.

Construct a built-in entertainment unit to house the clients’ turntable, associated audio equipment, TV, and personal artifacts. Transform the first floor into a self-contained guest suite by reimagining a standard bedroom into a kitchenette. Add custom shelves to the first floor TV room. Source a dining table and chairs that fits the space & matches the tones of the overall project (Designer: Dórica via Obra Imports).

Playing records from top to bottom, hosting extended guest visits, storing & displaying cherished pieces from travels abroad.

Oak, painted oak - Benjamin Moore Celtic Blue & Spellbound. Rubio Monocoat 2C - Pure. This color palette was inspired by the blue waters (Barton Springs, Deep Eddy, Town Lake, etc) & big skies of a Texas summer spent in Austin.

A flexible home that can function as two separate flats when necessary. The first floor provides privacy and utility for guests in their personal kitchenette; the second floor is enriched with a custom statement piece that provides space for sentimental objects and audio equipment.
Behind the Scenes
We are honored to work with Dórica to elevate our clients’ rituals. For Project Turntable, our clients chose Dórica’s Mesa AP02 table & Silla AP01 chairs to complement their guest kitchenette. Dórica is an acclaimed Mexican furniture firm, led by Sebastián Ángeles. Sebastián & his team continue to shape the world of interior design from their home base in Mexico City. Their influence is felt across Mexico, Milan, New York, and beyond.
