Project Búho

Búho (Spanish) translates to owl in English. As forestry & agricultural professionals, our clients feel a strong connection to their unique environment, and the flora & fauna in this region, such as mushrooms & owls. We invited the outdoors in by infusing their space with a contemporary blend of rich wood textures, natural stone and a dynamic color, inspired by lichen. Our process sprouted while enjoying local wines & bloomed through the shared experience of growing the idea from sketch to finish.

  • Open up the space, improve wine storage, maintain heirloom butcher block, and draw influence from nature.

  • Mushroom hunting, wine making, and cozy dinners at home after a walk with the house pup, Mace. We crafted cabinets around our client’s revered family heirloom, a handmade butcher block, used frequently to prep home-grown produce.

  • Tree Moss 508 by Benjamin Moore | A dynamic color selection inspired by the native lichen in the Pacific Northwest, and calming green shade symbolic of symbiotic relationships in nature. Leathered Astoria granite from Brazil boasts a sturdy, earthy feel. The combination of Parota & Oak wood complements the heirloom butcher block, reflective of the densely wooded local environment.

  • Project Búho mirrors the tones & spirit of the Oregon landscape and elevates our clients’ everyday rituals. An airy home atmosphere, nature-inspired and infused with life; designed to maximize the natural light, provide thoughtful storage solutions, and foster creativity within a fulfilling and enjoyable collaborative process.
