What does the name ‘Obra’ mean?

‘Obra de arte’ translates from Spanish to English as ‘work of art’. Drawing inspiration from the word, Obra infuses workspaces with elegance and personality by understanding our clients’ rituals and cultivating a harmonious union of design, function, and purpose.

Where is Obra located?

Austin, TX, with team members in Mexico City, Mexico, and Milwaukee, WI.

How long does an Obra project take from start to finish?

Standard projects last 6-10 weeks from design to install. Timeline will depend on the level of client-Obra collaboration, and production calendar.

Does Obra only do kitchen projects?

No. We stick to interior spaces: kitchens, bathrooms, living spaces, thoughtful shelving & storage, and anything that fits within our wheelhouse of custom carpentry. We will shoot you straight if a project is outside of our capabilities.

Can I see an Obra space in person?

Yes. Please contact us at howdy@obraprojects.com for more details (Austin, TX). We’d love to break bread with you and give you the opportunity to kick the tires of one of our Obra spaces.

What if I have no design experience?

No worries. Together, we will identify your rituals, functional requirements, and goals for the space. These elements will inform the design iterations we present to you throughout the Obra process.

What if I already have designs for my space?

We are happy to review your current designs & determine if Obra is capable of producing & executing your original design.

Can Obra help me with brand strategy and graphic design services?
